Huge plumes of smoke as fire burns in Oldham
Huge plumes of smoke can be seen across Oldham after a fire broke out this morning.
Images shared on social media show clouds of thick black smoke drifting across the town. The fire is believed to have broken out off Shaw Road in Royton.
Eyewitnesses have reported being able to see the plumes of smoke from as far away as Manchester city centre.

The exact location and cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for further information.

Eyewitnesses say the fire involves a scrapyard near to the Blue Tiffin Indian restaurant off Higginshaw Lane, Royton.
