Huge M60 queues following crash on M56

Drivers were facing long delays on the M60 following a crash on the M56 in south Manchester.

Highways officers were responding to a crash on the M56 westbound at junction four, near Wythenshawe, this morning (April 17).

A lane has been closed on the M60 exit slip road onto the M56 as a result of the collision.

The incident was causing long queues on the M60 clockwise, tailing back towards Denton Island, according to Google traffic data.

A post from the Inrix traffic monitoring system said: "M60 clockwise lane closed on exit slip road, slow traffic due to accident at J4 M56."

Queues cleared up by 8.30am.
