Huge boost: Newcastle handed late injury lift ahead of Leicester, Howe will be buzzing - opinion

Newcastle United have been handed a late boost ahead of their Premier League meeting with Leicester City this afternoon.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Foxes’ Europa Conference League quarter-final victory on Thursday night, Brendan Rodgers revealed that Jamie Vardy, who has not featured for Leicester since their 1-0 win over Leeds United back in March, is no closer to making a return from his hamstring injury – with the 35-year-old once again being ruled out for the trip to St. James’ Park later on today.
