Huddersfield Town fans 'buzzing' as they set off to Wembley in search of glory

Dreams of Premier League glory beckoned for thousands of Town fans as they set off in blue skies and sunshine this morning for the Wembley clash this afternoon against Nottingham Forest.

John Smith's Stadium on Leeds Road was a sea of blue and white as dozens of coaches picked up excited fans who ranged from young children to elderly women in wheelchairs. Amanda Vickers of Earlsheaton was there with her partner Gavin and her two sons, 13-year-old Joshua and nine-year-old Ethan.

She said: "I last went to Wembley in 1994 for the Autoglass Trophy when I was 15 and I'm wearing the Town top that I had on that day. I want my sons to experience the special atmosphere at Wembley and I can't wait to see their faces when we get into the stadium. I'm really looking forward to it and I'm sure it's going to be a great day."

Also at the stadium were Lynne Maitland and her partner Colman O'Loughlin. Lynne said: "We were on a Caribbean cruise the last time Town were at Wembley so we missed it. It's a lovely day and let's just hope we can make up for the disappointment of the Giants' loss to Wigan yesterday with a Town victory."

Joining the throng too were Martin Lucid and his father John. Martin said: "I'm actually a Liverpool supporter. It was a bit rough losing to Real Madrid last night and the Giants lost to Wigan so hopefully Town will come good today."

Shift process operative for a fibre optics company, Stewart McFarlane from Rastrick, was there with his 10-year-old grandson Arthur Sheard. He said: "I've been to Wembley quite a few times but this is the first time for my grandson so we're really looking forward to it and I am quietly confident
