'Hubby ditched me for mates on our honeymoon – but people say I'm in the wrong'

Your honeymoon should be a time to unwind and enjoy the company of your new spouse, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Whether you choose a tropical retreat or a cosy staycation, it's a unique opportunity for you and your partner to celebrate your union and take a well-deserved break. The way couples spend their honeymoon varies, but one thing most would agree on is that it should be spent together, whether exploring new sights or simply relaxing in the hotel.

However, one woman has shared her frustration after her husband decided to abandon her for an evening during their honeymoon to hang out with his friends. Despite her anger, her husband believes she is at fault for being left alone in the hotel.

In a Reddit post, the woman detailed how they were spending their honeymoon in Hawaii when some of her husband's friends, who happened to be holidaying nearby, invited them out for drinks. She declined the invitation, but her husband chose to go without her, leaving her alone in the hotel.

She penned: "We were on our honeymoon in Hawaii and my husband's friends found out through social media that we were there. They reached out to him saying we should come out and grab a drink. These are my husband's friends, many of them I've maybe only met once before.

"I didn't want to go out since it was getting late and thought we should head to bed. I also thought our honeymoon was just for us to spend time with each other without seeing other people. My husband's argument was that because these friends live in different cities than us, he rarely gets to see them. And they really wanted to spend some time with us."

The woman revealed her husband spent a couple of hours out with his friends while she stayed at the hotel
