How much Vernon Kay raised for Children in Need 2023 ultramarathon and the route he took

Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay has finished his gruelling four-day challenge for Children in Need. Vernon took part in the 115-mile ultra marathon challenge - which saw him travel on foot from Leicester to Bolton for the BBC charity.

He set off from Victoria Park in Leicester at around 8am on Tuesday. Vernon then headed through the city and out into the villages of Leicestershire including Anstey, Newton Lindford and Belton. he then passed into Derbyshire before arriving in Derby on Tuesday afternoon after 27 miles.

On Wednesday Vernon set off from Derby and through the Peak District including Matlock, Bakewell and ending the day in Hope after 40 miles on foot.

On Thursday he left Hope and headed along the top of Kinder Scout and through Hayfield and Marple. He headed towards Stockport and into Manchester city centre - ending the day at Old Trafford Cricket Ground after 30 miles of walking.

Vernon left Old Trafford early on Friday morning and went through MediaCity and towards Little Hulton and through the outskirts of Bolton and Horwich. He crossed the finishing line at Bolton Wanderers football stadium, at Middlebrook, at around 10am where he was greeted by cheerleaders, a brass band and a huge crowd of fans. Pudsey Bear also whooped and cheered his arrival.

Bolton-born Vernon was also greeted by mum and dad, Gladys and Norm as well as other family and friends. However, wife Tess couldn't be there to congratulate him as she is filming Strictly Come Dancing in Blackpool.
