How Manchester United should line up vs Arsenal in pre-season friendly

Manchester United start their pre-season tour of North America with a friendly against Arsenal on Saturday night.

United have defeated Leeds and Lyon so far this summer and this weekend's clash against Premier League rivals Arsenal should give the players a stiffer test, whilst some in the squad will also make their first pre-season appearance.

Erik ten Hag has named a 31-man squad for the USA tour and stars like Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes are expected to start against Arsenal at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Andre Onana has also joined up with the squad after completing his move to Old Trafford and he's in contention to play.

Some players will only get a half but it would be good to have United at near-full strength. They are a No.9 away from an XI Ten Hag will be content with and Jadon Sancho is probably the stop-gap to play up top for the time being.

If Andre Onana is in the right conditions to play then he should be in net. Casemiro and Mason Mount need to start together and Kobbie Mainoo merits exposure against a reinforced Arsenal side in the second half.

Right-back is the only area of the side that is not nailed on. Diogo Dalot is the more rounded option and needs a starting half to try and regain rhythm after a poor second half of last season.
