How Manchester United should line up vs Tottenham in Premier League

Manchester United take on a struggling Tottenham side away from home in the Premier League on Thursday night.

United bounced back from their embarrassing defeat against Sevilla with a victory against Brighton in the semi-final of the FA Cup at the weekend and the Reds will now face Manchester City in the final of England's oldest competition on June 3.

However, Erik ten Hag's attention has returned to the Premier League and Thursday's game against Tottenham, who are currently in crisis after suffering a brutal 6-1 defeat against Newcastle, a game in which they conceded five goals in 20 minutes.

Regarding the team news for the game, Harry Maguire will be available for selection again after missing the Brighton match due to suspension, but a late call will be made on Bruno Fernandes after he picked up a knock at Wembley.

United should certainly keep the same centre-backs in, possibly the same back four. For better and worse, Harry Maguire has experience of playing against his namesake Kane but United have to be looking to the future with certain selections even if it does compromise the balance of the defence. Tyrell Malacia was poor again as a substitute at Wembley.

Fred has been underused in the last six weeks and Christian Eriksen looked leggy in both games last week. Jadon Sancho did well as an impact sub again and the challenge is to do it as a starter. Anthony Martial does not deserve to start after four goalless games and two meek performances in the Europa League and FA Cup.
