How Manchester United should line up vs Brentford in Premier League fixture

Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from defeat when they host Brentford at Old Trafford tonight.

Erik ten Hag's side were poor in their weekend loss against Newcastle and will be looking for revenge against the team that thumped them 4-0 in the second match of the season.

United have lost just one of their last 22 home league games, the longest such run in the competition, though Thomas Frank's side have lost just one of their last 16 Premier League games.

In terms of early team news, Christian Eriksen is back in training but will miss the match, and Casemiro is suspended.

Samuel Luckhurst

Both full-backs cannot keep their place and as limited as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is going forward his athleticism could keep Brentford in check at the other end tonight.

Marcel Sabitzer and Fred have not particularly convinced as a duo but United have won two and drawn one in their three starts together. Anthony Martial has to start in place of the impotent Wout Weghorst.

United need a response from the weekend, and that should come in the form of changes all across the pitch. The two full-backs would be lucky to keep their places, but central defence could bring the biggest shock in the shape of Lindelof.

It would allow Martinez to move into the experimental defensive midfield role, and it has reached the point where that is now really worth a go. Fred should have started at St. James' Park and that remains the case tonight.
