How long is left on Edinson Cavani's contract at Manchester United?

Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani looks set to leave the club this summer, failing to muster up a consistent run within the team during the 2021/22 campaign. The 35-year-old had been linked with a move away in January and has featured just 17 times for United this season.

Having joined the club from French giants PSG back in October of 2020, Cavani enjoyed a super spell last season, finding the net 17 times in 39 appearances. In May of this year, it was announced 'El Matador' would be extending his stay at Old Trafford for a further year until June 2022.

But with the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coupled with numerous spells on the sidelines, Cavani, like many others, looks likely to leave the club this year. Rumours had linked the striker with a move back to South America, all though other European clubs have potentially eyed the experienced forward as an option heading into the summer months.

Cavani's current United deal is set to expiry on June 30, 2022.

As prior mentioned, Cavani has struggled this season, but does boast an impressive record for the Reds. In just 56 appearances, the former Napoli forward has registered 19 goals as well as seven assists during his time with the club.

Valued by TransferMarkt at just a mere £3.6million, the striker is now coming towards the end of his career. He will most notably be remembered for his famous partnership with ex-United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic at PSG.
