Edinson Cavani could have one final job to do at Manchester United with Cristiano Ronaldo

When Edinson Cavani joined Manchester United in the summer of 2020, fans were understandably excited. The experienced Uruguayan brought with him goals and a proven pedigree, having scored a total of 353 goals across three different leagues.

The experienced attacker has only played in 17 matches for the Reds this season, with his last appearance being a 10-minute cameo in United’s 3-2 win over Tottenham in March. Of those appearances, the Uruguayan has made just seven starts.

Fitness issues have hampered Cavani’s involvement hugely this term, with the striker missing a total of 23 matches in all competitions due to injury or illness. What’s more, the Uruguayan has only seen 761 minutes of action this term, in comparison to 2,180 last year.
