How is Nathan Collins faring since leaving Stoke City?

Following a relatively underwhelming 2020/21 campaign which culminated in a 14th-place finish in the Championship, Stoke City opted to launch an overhaul of their squad last summer.

As well as securing the services of eight players, the Potters also parted ways with a number of individuals ahead of the current term.

One of the players who moved on to pastures new was Nathan Collins who sealed a move to Burnley after making 47 appearances for Stoke during his time at the club.

Signed for a fee believed to be in the region of £12m, it was always going to be intriguing to see how the defender would fare at the highest level.

Here, we have decided to take a look at how Collins is getting on at his new club…

Collins made his debut for Burnley in their EFL Cup clash with Newcastle United in August.

Yet despite helping his side keep a clean-sheet in this particular fixture, the defender had to wait until November to feature in the Premier League for the Clarets.

After demonstrating some signs of promise against Norwich City, Collins kept his place in the side for the club’s clashes with Manchester City and Southampton before being replaced by Ben Mee for their next set of fixtures.

Due to the presence of Mee and James Tarkowski, Collins was not selected to feature in seven consecutive league games before Sean Dyche gave him another opportunity to impress last weekend.

The 20-year-old went on to deliver an assured display against Brighton & Hove Albion as Burnley sealed a crucial victory in their battle for survival.

Having recorded a respectable WhoScored match rating of 6.78 in this fixture, Collins will be keen to build upon this performance when Burnley face Tottenham Hotspur tonight.
