Keith Jackson: Kilmarnock may spring a surprise by taking care of Hearts tomorrow, St Mirren can be confident of doing the same to Hibs. Ross County v Aberdeen is a toss of a coin job and Michael Beale will be out of a job if he loses at home to Livingston, which he won’t.

David McCarthy: It wouldn’t be a shock if Killie took out, while Rangers should beat Livi at Ibrox. The two others are tougher to call but St Mirren and Ross County can edge out Hibs and Aberdeen respectively.

Scott Burns : Aberdeen, Rangers, Hibs and Hearts.

Gordon Parks : Killie can edge Hearts tomorrow night and they will join St Mirren, Aberdeen and Rangers in the hat for a couple of Hampden showdowns.

Keith Jackson: It’s a bad one alright, especially given the way Scott Bain performed when under no serious or sustained pressure between the sticks at Livingston. He’ll need to be a great deal more convincing against Motherwell’s high flyers.

David McCarthy: He’ll be a big miss in terms of his presence and ability to pull out a save when needed. Bain looked indecisive at Livi but the minutes he got will be a help.

Scott Burns : It is a blow because Joe Hart is a big influence on the dressing room. Scott Bain, however, is better suited to play out from the back, the way Brendan Rodgers wants to play. Motherwell will certainly be looking to put Bain under pressure.

Gordon Parks : Scott Bain is a more than able deputy so it shouldn’t cause any major disruption but communication in Celtic ’s backline has been an issue in recent weeks and this suspension is a disruption to the gelling of a defence which needs some work for the challenges ahead in Europe.
