Hour-by-hour weather forecast for Greater Manchester today

It's a wet and grey start this morning in Greater Manchester, but fortunately the drizzle will clear up and conditions will turn brighter by late afternoon.

According to the Met Office, outbreaks of rain will spread eastwards across all parts of the north west today, with some heavy rain possible over Cumbria. But it will become 'drier and brighter' from midday onwards, with the afternoon being a mix of sunny spells and isolated showers in places.

The rain is due to clear up in Manchester from around lunchtime and it will remain dry for the rest of the day. Sunny intervals can be expected from 5pm and temperatures will peak at 16C.

It will cloud over later on, but will stay dry overnight until the showers return on Thursday morning. Temperatures will remain in double figures at a minimum of 10C overnight.

Tomorrow will be wetter than today, with rain forecast from 8am until 5pm, turning heavy at times. However the sun will make a comeback in the early evening, with highs of 14C.

The weather is forecast to stay dry for the rest of the week, although it may be overcast at times. Temperatures will peak at 17C on Saturday afternoon.
