Cheapest petrol stations for every Greater Manchester borough as prices hit record high
The average cost of petrol has reached another record high, according to experts.
Data firm Experian Catalist said a litre of petrol cost an average of 180.7p on Tuesday - an increase of 2.2p compared to the previous day. Similarly, Wednesday has seen an increase which has taken the average cost for a 55-litre family car to more than £100 for the first time ever.
Some forecourts have been recorded as selling petrol above £2 per litre. The average price of diesel has also set a record high, hitting 186.6p on Tuesday, up from 1.4p on Monday.
