Homes Under The Hammer couple's 'impressive' transformation of 'uninhabitable' flat with no front door

A couple transformed an 'uninhabitable' flat into a lovely two-bed home - after bagging it at an auction. Husband and wife Andy and Juvi bought the run-down property for £103,000, but they had a huge task at hand as it came with no front door, single-glazed windows and a dodgy gas supply.

The pair's buying and renovation journey was documented on a recent episode of BBC's Homes Under The Hammer which aired on Tuesday (September 26) and sees hosts Martin Roberts, Dion Dublin and Jacqui Joseph cast their expert eyes over properties before they go to auction, as well as check in with the buyers once the homes are renovated.

Found in a good location near to Nottingham city centre, the apartment was deemed 'uninhabitable' because it wasn't connected to a gas supply. Despite its flaws developers Andy and Juvi, who currently own several student homes across the city, saw potential in it and snapped it up in the hopes to turn it into a short-term let.

Host Dion Dublin visited the property at the start of the episode and immediately noticed the lack of a front door. Whilst walking around the flat, he also said would need a brand new boiler, double-glazed windows to keep the heat in, a new kitchen and bathroom and a lick of paint.

When estate agent Jon Archer visited the home to value it, he told host Dion that once renovated, the two-bed ground floor could be sold for £145,000, rented for up to £1,000 a month or let for £100 a night to city-centre tourists.
