'His time always comes' - Manchester United stars praise loanee after Barcelona display

Facundo Pellistri sent a reminder to Manchester United with an impressive display against Barcelona.

The winger joined Spanish side Granada on loan for the remainder of the season near the end of the January transfer window. After making his debut in a draw with Las Palmas last weekend, Pellistri faced the more daunting task of lining up against Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Pellistri, 22, was allowed to leave United on loan after making just three starts in 14 appearances for Erik ten Hag’s side in the first half of the season. However, the forward showcased his quality against the Catalan giants on Sunday in Granada’s fight against relegation.

The United loanee played a pivotal role as Granada twice took the lead against Barcelona and battled to a 3-3 draw. Pellistri laid on the assist for Ricard Sanchez’s equaliser before half-time. On the hour mark, Pellistri met Myrto Uzuni’s low cross at the back post to give Granada the lead.

Granada were denied three points after Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal scored his second goal of the game but the club demonstrated their enduring team spirit, despite sitting eight points from safety with 14 games left. Writing on Instagram, Pellistri said: "The fight for the goal continues."

The winger’s exploits in LaLiga did not go unnoticed by his United teammates. Writing underneath Pellistri's post, Harry Maguire said: "Well done mate." United skipper Bruno Fernandes also offered some advice: "It may take time but the one who deserves it his time always comes." Kobbie Mainoo also showed his support by sharing two heart emojis
