Alan Shearer unleashes furious rant at Manchester United star Marcus Rashford

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has unleashed a furious attack on Manchester United star Marcus Rashford during the Reds' FA Cup fifth-round tie against Nottingham Forest.

United have looked dangerous going forward so far this evening but have not managed to find the breakthrough. Antony went closest for the Reds early doors as his strike hit the crossbar while Scott McTominay forced a good save from the Forest 'keeper.

However, Rashford has struggled to offer a threat himself and was met with anger from Shearer when he threw his hands up in frustration. Unimpressed by the move, the former striker who is in the gantry for the BBC this evening blasted the 26-year-old.

"Come on Marcus, get up and stop waving your arms around," Shearer said. "You have got to do better, too easy that.

"The ball is in front of you against the defender. You've got to hold the ball up for your teammates.

"I don't like his body language at times. Trying to send a message out to the fans, it's not my fault.

"You as an individual have to take responsibility every now and again for your actions on the pitch. Get up and get on with it."

Rashford has started for United in the centre-forward role due to ongoing injury worries at Old Trafford. First-choice striker Rasmus Hojlund will be out of action for another couple of weeks at least with a muscular issue.

Meanwhile, Anthony Martial is expected to be out until at least April after undergoing surgery on his groin. The winner of United vs Forest this evening will face either Liverpool or Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
