'Highlight of the season' - Ruben Neves buzzing over Wolves image

Ruben Neves has sent a heartfelt message to Pedro Neto via his Instagram account as the winger made his Wolves comeback.

Wolves managed to extend their great run of form on Sunday, making it one defeat in their last eight league matches thanks to excellent strikes from Ruben Neves and Daniel Podence.

However, the best and most significant moment of the match was arguably the long-awaited return of Pedro Neto, who’s been sidelined since the end of last season with a serious knee injury, and after 10 months on the sidelines, he finally made his return, featuring for the final nine minutes of the victory.

Neves took to Instagram to congratulate his fellow countryman by saying: ‘For me, the highlight of the season happened today’ accompanied by a photo of Neto on the pitch.

TIF Thoughts on Neto’s return…

While Wolves are enjoying a stunning campaign under Bruno Lage, who’s got them in the hunt for a Champions League spot, they have struggled in the final third – netting just 23 goals in the Premier League, which is the third-lowest out of the 20 clubs.

The return of Neto therefore should be a massive boost considering he finished last season as the club’s top scorer and top assisted, so it’s no surprise that their goals have dried up when he’s been out injured – and that Neves is so delighted the midfielder is finally back.
