High winds causing chaos on the roads as Severn Bridge closes - live updates

There are severe delays across the south Wales road network this morning as unprecedented levels of wind and rain are causing chaos on the roads.

The M48 Severn Bridge has closed in both directions, according to National Highways, due to "high winds" and traffic is being diverted over the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge, where an increase in traffic is causing delays of 20 minutes for drivers heading over the border.

There are also delays reported across the M4 in Newport, as well as on the A4232 in Cardiff, and Traffic Wales has warned drivers of "poor driving conditions."
