Hibs ultras condemn sick Rangers graffiti as they deny Ibrox disaster references and stickers were their doing

A Hibs ultras fan group has condemned the sick graffiti and stickers that appeared in the away end at Ibrox on Sunday.

And they also claim that an individual fan who was seen mocking the 1971 disaster, in which 66 fans lost their lives, has been removed from their group. Images showing the number 66 sprayed on a number of seats in the Govan ground's away section emerged after the 4-0 win for Philippe Clement's side, and horrified both Rangers and fellow Hibs fans. Both clubs have since released statements slamming the actions of those responsible.

The Hibees has also confirmed that the suporter who hurtfully mocked the disaster with an image on his phone has been banned indefinitely. The Easter Road club have vowed to root out others who sprayed the offensive graffiti and displayed the stickers. Now Block Seven have put out a statement of their own, blasting the behaviour but insisting they were not the guilty party, given they were allocated a different section of seats within the Hibs support.

It read: "In response to the main stream (sic) media, fellow Hibs fans and other supporters criticism after the events on Saturday at Ibrox, the group would like to go on record to say that any form of graffiti or stickers mocking the 66 found in the away end were not from Block Seven. The club have also been in contact to confirm this.

"The club allocate us a section of the away end for every match and the graffiti in question was not in our designated section.

"As for the individual who was caught mocking the disaster with his phone, he has been removed from the group as a result of his actions.

Block Seven are fully committed to improving the Hibernian atmosphere home and away, and such incidents have no relevance to our club
