Hibs squad numbers confirmed for 2022/23 Premiership season as new signings take the big ones

Hibs have confirmed their squad numbers ahead of the 2022-23 Scottish Premiership season.

Lee Johnson has brought in eight new faces so far this summer and there will likely be more to follow. After a disappointing campaign last term, the new boss is heading up a fresh start at Easter Road. The new faces have been allocated their numbers. Unsurprisingly, David Marshall takes the vacant No.1 shirt after Matt Macey’s departure to Luton Town. Australian right back Lewis Miller has been given No.2.

Nohan Kenneh’s been earmarked from a midfield role and the former Leeds United man will wear number six on his back. Portuguese winger Jai Tavares gets 10, while fellow new recruits Momodou Bojang and Elie Youan are 17 and 23 respectively. Aiden McGeady is the Hibees’ highest profile signing so far during this window. And the 36-year-old isn’t about to start breaking habits at this stage in his career, once again taking the number 46 shirt.

There have been changes for some players who were at the club last season as well. Jake Doyle-Hayes has snapped up Drey Wright’s former number eight shirt, while Ewan Henderson has gone from 80 to 18. Player of the Year Chris Cadden has switched to 12 from 27. Norwegian striker Elias Melkersen has also changed it up, swapping 34 for 20.
