Henrik Larsson roped into Celtic striker comparison during Man United address as he reveals his chilled next step

He may have been quizzed on all things Man United - but Henrik Larsson was put on the Celtic spot when it came to most impressive strike partners.

The former Swedish forward is classed as a modern day giant at Parkhead after earning the nickname 'The King of Kings' from adoring punters. He made 315 appearances for the Hoops, scoring an incredible 242 goals before moving on in 2004 to Barcelona after a seven-year stay filled with glory.

After initially returning to Sweden in 2006 at Helsinborgs, Larsson moved to Man United on loan in 2007, where he helped them to a Premier League title. Speaking to MUTV, the forward was asked how play at Old Trafford with Cristiano Ronaldo and Rooney compared to some of the Celtic, Barcelona, and Sweden forwards he linked up with, and he made sure not to throw any of his Hoops pals under the bus.

He said: "Playing with them strikers, you had Rooney, Cristiano, you had Solskjaer there, Saha, Alan Smith as well. But it is also the players behind.

"The midfield and the back four we had at that time was just quality. It's different. I won't sit here and say it was better but it was a little bit more quality!"

Larsson also revealed that he isn't seeking a return to football after a coaching stint with Barcelona. He served as assistant to Ronald Koeman at his former club for just over a year between 2020 and 2021, having previously managed in Sweden. And now his focus is on family, but son Jordan plying his trade at FC Copenhagen needs to forge his own path in the game.

The 52-year-old added: "I am not too busy with his career. If he wants to bounce things off me I am always here. But now I am a full-time grandad, enjoying life, travelling, play golf and paddle tennis. Not really looking into
