Heaton Park capacity for Oasis gigs confirmed as Manchester venue set to welcome staggering number

Following weeks of speculation, this morning it was confirmed that Oasis will be reforming and heading out on a huge world tour.

Oasis Live 25 will see Liam and Noel Gallagher play 14 gigs across the UK next summer, with stop offs planned for Manchester, London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London. The tour will run across July and August and will offer a major boost to the UK economy through ticket sales, accommodation and hospitality.

The Britpop legends will play a total of 14 shows, kicking off the tour in July with two nights on July 4 and 5 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. They will then play four nights at Heaton Park in Manchester on July 11, 12, 19 and 20.

Oasis will then head to London Wembley for four nights on July 25 and 26 and August 2 and 3. They’ll play Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on August 8 and 9, and finally Dublin’s Croke Park for two nights, on August 16 and 17.

Of course, for Manchester fans, news of Oasis' return is hugely significant. Liam and Noel Gallagher grew up in Burnage, and their impact on the city - and wider area - is still very much felt today.

This wouldn't be the band's first appearance at the Manchester park either. In 2009, Oasis played three sold-out shows at the venue.

They performed to a total audience of 210,000. But the first night was riddled with technical problems and, as a result, refunds totalling £1m were issued with the band sending out cheques of around £45 each to attendees from the 'Oasis: Bank of Burnage'.

Since their final hometown appearances, Heaton Park has hosted many gigs as well as Parklife festival which moved to the beauty spot in Prestwich in 2013. And you can read
