Heartbreaking tributes to dad-of-one who died in horror crash abroad
A ‘kind, amazing’ security guard from Sale has died following a car crash abroad. Benjamin Alokata was visiting his mum and sister in Malawi, Africa, when tragedy struck.
Family and friends have paid tribute to the 52-year-old, who worked in security at a number of shops, following his death in July this year.
Paying tribute, his brother Victor Alokata said: “As the older brother, it hurt so much to hear that he passed away. I was meant to be in Malawi with him but I had to work.
“Even though I am the older brother and I am meant to help and guide him when we were younger, it was the opposite. He was the reason I am the man I am today.
“Our father passed away when we were young so we did not have a male role model in the house. I’m sure our father would be proud of the men we became and it’s because of Benjamin.
“It took a lot of time to process it but we don’t believe death is the end so I imagine he is with my father right now.”

Benjamin worked as a security guard in Manchester. But he had dreams of opening up a Malawian restaurant to give people a taste of his culture.
Friends have also paid tribute to the dad, describing him as ‘someone who puts 110% into everything'.
Taran Ali, a co-worker and friend of Benjamin said: “He was such a lively guy, always came into work smiling and I don’t know how, especially with our early shifts.
“It was a massive shock for everyone in the workplace and we couldn’t believe it. He will be missed and I know he’s in Jannah (heaven) right now.”
A funeral was held for Benjamin in Manchester earlier this month, on August 5.
The 52-year-old leaves behind his 14-year-old son, mother, sister and brother.
