'Hearing...' - Journalist drops dramatic late Celtic transfer claim in similar style to CCV

Journalist Pete O’Rourke believes Celtic could sign a wide forward in the final hours of the January transfer window, GiveMeSport report.

It has been a quiet end to the window so far in terms of incomings, with Michael Nicholson and Ange Postecoglou already completing five signings this month.

Three of those were sorted on New Year’s Eve, with Johnny Kenny and Matt O’Riley also moving to Glasgow on permanent deals.

Osaze Urhoghide has sealed a switch to KV Oostende on deadline day, but O’Rourke thinks the Hoops could have a final surprise up their sleeves.

Talking to GiveMeSport in a story released on Monday afternoon, O’Rourke said that Postecoglou could consider a move for a wide forward.

“I keep hearing how a wide attacker could be in Ange Postecoglou’s thoughts as well if the right option comes up.

“I still think if the right offer or the right players out there, they still might try and bring somebody in just to bolster the squad, especially with their injury problems and if they want to try and catch Rangers and win the Scottish Premiership this season.”

Time is ticking and it looks as if Celtic will end their business on five additions.

However, saying that, they could look to push through a permanent deal for loanee Jota in the final hours if their desire for a wide signing is true.

The Hoops have previous of a late move coming out of nowhere, with Cameron Carter-Vickers’ move in the summer materialising with hours to go and being announced just minutes before midnight.

They have reportedly been working on a full-time transfer since the start of the month for both loanees and have a £6.5m option in the agreement for the Portuguese winger. That could be one to watch, but in terms of fresh faces, the Hoops appear
