'He'll stay until we win something' - Man United fans react to reports on Cristiano Ronaldo future

Manchester United fans have been reacting to the reports that Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at Old Trafford regardless of whether the club qualify for the Champions League next season or not.

Ronaldo’s future at United has looked uncertain amid what has been a dismal campaign for the club. Despite signing a two-year deal last summer, there have been rumours that the five-time Ballon d’Or could look to leave, especially if United fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The Portuguese superstar is claimed to have spoken about his desire to add another European crown to his impressive collection with United officials upon returning to the club last summer. Having been knocked out in the last 16 of this season’s competition, Ronaldo's future has been called into question.

However, The Telegraph have reported that Ronaldo plans to see out the final year of his contract, regardless of whether United are at Europe’s top table next season or not. The report claims the 37-year-old has no intentions of seeking a move in the summer and hopes the appointment of a new permanent manager can transform the club's fortunes.

The report comes amid the news that Erik ten Hag is the preferred candidate to become United’s new permanent manager. Reacting to the reports of Ronaldo potentially staying, fans have been left wondering whether he knows something about the managerial situation.

Although Ten Hag is United's preferred choice to become manager, the club are yet to finalise their plans. They do though still intend to make an appointment before the end of the season.
