'He deserves a start' - Manchester United sent Nemanja Matic message as Atletico lineup confirmed

Manchester United fans have all said the same thing about Nemanja Matic after he has to settle for a place on the bench against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Matic, along with Anthony Elanga, helped change the game in United's favour in the first leg vs Atletico Madrid last month. The Reds drew 1-1 in Spain leaving tonight's tie firmly in the balance.

Following recent good form, plenty of the Reds fans were certain he would start against Atleti on this crucial Champions League night. However, Ralf Rangnick has opted to start Fred and Scott McTominay.

Fred was highly praised by many pundits last weekend following a great performance against Tottenham - this appears to have been enough to persuade Rangnick to start the Brazilian again.

However, McTominay missed Saturday's victory with a calf injury and it could be deemed as a risk to start him over an in-form Matic. In the meantime, United fans have sent a clear message about their feelings upon seeing the Serbian on the bench.
