"He'd be keen to go" - Journalist drops major claim on £25m Spurs ace who "impressed" Conte

Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks would be open to a move away from the north London club this summer, says Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

Reports suggest that Spurs are willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old as manager Antonio Conte continues the rebuild of his team.

According to The Sun, Sevilla are considering making a move for Winks in the upcoming transfer window.

As well as the Spanish side, Fulham, Everton and Southampton have also been mentioned as potential destinations for the Englishman.

The above comes after the Daily Mail reported that Tottenham are ready to let Winks leave north London if their £25m valuation is met.

Winks managed to make 30 appearances in the 2021/22 season, but he made just eight starts in the Premier League under Conte despite the former Inter Milan boss saying he “impressed” him in training.

Brown has told GIVEMESPORT that Winks has tried to secure a move away from Tottenham before and would still be receptive to one.

Speaking to GMS, the Daily Star journalist said: “I think he’d be keen to go. He knows that the way the club are going, he’s not going to have a key role under Conte. And in the last couple of windows, his people were trying to find him a move, so it seems pretty clear that he’d be receptive to one.”

It is obvious that Conte prefers Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur, who made 26 and 16 league appearances, respectively, under the Italian in the campaign that has just gone.

Compared to Winks, they both add a bit more steel in the middle of the park, which is probably what Conte wants.
