'He'd attract offers' - Journalist claims another player could now be set for Everton sale

Journalist Tony Scott has suggested that Colombian defender Yerry Mina could move away from the club in the summer, believing a move out of the Premier League could happen if a team takes a chance.  

Everton are due a rebuild this summer after their poor season in 2021/22, which saw them finish 16th in the table and only four points off the final spot in the relegation zone. While they started promisingly under former boss Rafa Benitez, their form seriously derailed by the time Frank Lampard arrived, and with their current manager guiding the Toffees to safety, the board are set to back the former Chelsea man in the summer transfer window.

One player that is believed to be on the chopping block if an offer comes in is Mina, who has been a big player for Everton, but his fitness issues led him to miss a lot of games last season and therefore could be on the way out in favour of a fresh and more reliable face.

Journalist Scott revealed his stance on the All Together Now podcast, stating that he could see a foreign club coming in and taking a chance on the 27-year-old – but fears Everton may struggle to recoup their original transfer fee.

He said: “Obviously for us, he’s just not robust enough for the Premier League. But I think potentially a club could take a risk on him. Whether they’d break the bank for him – no. Would you make our money back on him? Possibly not, maybe just make the money back, because of his age, what is he, late-20s?

“That would be really interesting. I think he would attract offers if it was known that he was available.”
