'Have anger in them' - Elias Kachunga's senior role in Bolton Wanderers team & squad message

Elias Kachunga believes Bolton Wanderers players not having regular game time should channel any anger they have into positive energy and show Ian Evatt why they should have a place in the starting XI.

Wanderers return to action this afternoon when they take on Lincoln City at home following the international break. It will be the first of eight games through the course of October.

Whites boss Evatt has adopted a squad rotation policy this season in a bid to maintain freshness and also give game time to his incredibly competitive squad. Kachunga is a part of that mix and has been in and out of the team so far this campaign.

Kachunga has discussed the rotation taking place at the Whites and believes all need to be at their highest level to step into the breach when called upon and take the opportunity when it is granted. Players who harbour any anger over not being in the team must channel it in the correct direction and into positive performances on the pitch, Kachunga has urged.

He said: "You always have a few players who play a few more games to keep the core of the team. You can’t change 11 every week, so this is normal.

“If the manager sees that someone needs a little rest because he has played a few games then everyone is happy because we have good players on the bench, and in the squad. Everyone has to be ready to play.

“Everyone should be training at their highest level to show the manager they are ready for the weekend but at the end of the day what happens on the Saturday is the most important thing. You can train well all week but sometimes it can go wrong and it doesn’t help anyone.
