Harvey Elliott: Liverpool star's scintillating Bournemouth highlights are a masterpiece

Harvey Elliott and his team put on a serious showing in their 9-0 demolition of Bournemouth this Saturday.

The record-equaling result comes at the perfect time for the Reds, who have endured an indifferent start to the 2022/2023 Premier League to say the very least.

Uncharacteristically complacent performances against Fulham and Crystal Palace were followed up by a lacklustre showing away at Old Trafford.

Three performances that saw Liverpool come away with just two points from their opening three matches and consequently had them lying 16th in the table.

Fans demanded a response, and boy did they get it.

Straight from the off Liverpool were relentless, scoring in the third minute and remaining a constant thorn in Bournemouth’s side, eventually ramming nine goals past their opponents to the pleasure of the Anfield support.

Many performances caught the eye on the day, Roberto Firmino especially, who registered an incredible five goal involvements courtesy of his three assists and two strikes.

However, one performance that may have been undeservedly overshadowed by Firmino’s brilliance is that of the 19-year-old, Elliott.

The young midfielder was simply a joy to the watch against the Cherries, scoring his first Premier League goal in epic fashion and putting in an all-round world class display.

A Liverpool supporter as a boy, it’s no surprise that Kopites have taken to Elliott so strongly.

But should he keep putting in displays like he did on Saturday, well, he’ll be a fan favourite within months.
