Joel Matip’s celebration after Liverpool’s 98th minute winner against Newcastle has gone viral.

Fabio Carvalho volleyed home from a scrambled corner to give Jurgen Klopp’s the most dramatic of victories.

The away side had led when Alexander Isak smashed home on his debut before half time.

Frustrations grew inside Anfield as the match wore on with the visitors trying to wind down the clock throughout. They took time with every set piece while multiple players going down injured before waving away the physios.

It appeared to inspire the Anfield crowd, the players and Liverpool staff.

Roberto Firmino equalised on the hour mark with a fine finish from Mohamed Salah’s pullback.

As Liverpool went in search of a winner, Newcastle’s time-wasting appeared to get worse.

It meant that Andre Marriner added on five minutes at the end of 90. But when Nick Pope spent most of those five minutes suffering from injury, Marriner decided to play a few minutes longer.

And in those few minutes, the home side forced home a dramatic winner through Carvalho.
