Harry Maguire sends three-word demand amid Man United Erik ten Hag sack pressure

Harry Maguire has urged Manchester United to "keep the belief" after scoring a stoppage-time equaliser during their chaotic 3-3 draw against Porto on Thursday.

Erik ten Hag was placed under increased pressure following Sunday's 3-0 drubbing against Tottenham and needed a victory in Portugal to ease the scrutiny on his position.

United got off to the perfect start, easing into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund. However, they surrendered that advantage with Porto turning the game on its head with Pepe Aquino pulling one back before former Chelsea target Samu Omorodion scored a brace to put them ahead.

It all seemed to be unravelling for United when Bruno Fernandes was sent off in the 81st minute, but Maguire saved the day to rescue a point for Ten Hag with a dramatic late leveller.

Although Maguire's 91st-minute header secured a valuable Europa League point for United, the performance and collapse felt like another damaging act for Ten Hag as speculation continues to grow over his future.

However, Maguire, who came on as a second-half substitute to score, has appeared to encourage the United fans to stick with Ten Hag and the 'process' in a three-word message on Instagram. He said in a post alongside four images of him scoring and celebrating: "Keep the belief," followed with a red love heart.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag praised United's character to salvage a late draw. "We started the game very good, we dominated, scored two good goals, but then we lost control," he said.
