Harry Maguire reacts to captaincy setback and three more things spotted in Man United training
Manchester United stepped up their pre-season preparations on Tuesday ahead of their second friendly.
United returned to action with a 2-0 win over Leeds United in Oslo last week and travel to Edinburgh to face Lyon on Wednesday afternoon. It will still be a squad made up of mostly youth prospects as the bulk of the seniors have been given extra time to recuperate before they take to the field again against Arsenal on Saturday.
The majority of the squad is now in training, though, and they were put through their paces on Tuesday afternoon before the playing squad jetted off to the Scottish capital. Photographs of the session, which includes fitness drills and small-sided passing games, have been released and here are four things MEN Sport spotted.

The centre-back announced on Twitter that Erik ten Hag had decided to remove him from his captaincy duties ahead of appointing a new skipper. His position with the armband had become untenable after slipping down the defensive pecking order.

Maguire himself admitted his disappointment over the decision and the latest setback comes amid a summer of speculation over his future. The 30-year-old was earmarked for a departure early on in the transfer window and has been linked with a wide range of clubs but United's £50million valuation might actually price him out of a move.
Despite all the upheaval, Maguire remained a smiling figure in training and is backing up his promise that he will still give his all for the club.
