Harry Kane slammed for ‘dive’ during England 0-4 Hungary - but was there contact?
Harry Kane has been accused of an ‘embarrassing dive’ during England’s humiliating 4-0 defeat to Hungary in the Nations League on Tuesday night.
A clip of the England captain going to ground inside the Hungary penalty area has gone viral on social media.
Kane controlled the ball before falling to the ground while screaming.

An utterly EMBARRASSING dive from Harry Kane here. You won’t see or hear a single mention of this anywhere though.pic.twitter.com/i6ymyoNVBd
This is bad even for Kane #KaneCheatOfTheDay pic.twitter.com/RrEos4ruR4
It’s easy to see why many people firmly believe this is a cynical dive from the Tottenham striker.
On first viewing it does indeed appear that minimal, if any, contact was made.
But look a little closer and you’ll spot that the right boot of Zsolt Nagy catches Kane’s left foot as the England star took the ball down.
Whether this was enough contact to warrant Kane’s reaction is up for debate, but we’ve all seen penalties given for less – especially in the VAR era.
