Harry Kane has dropped another hint about his future amid Manchester United interest

Earlier this week, Harry Kane became England's all-time top goalscorer, with the Tottenham striker converting from the penalty spot as the Three Lions secured a 2-1 victory over Italy in their opening Euro 2024 qualifier. Having achieved one major record, the 29-year-old is now focused on the next.

Kane is being linked with a move away from Spurs at the end of the season, and MEN Sport understands he is Erik ten Hag's prime striker target to reinforce the United attack in the summer. It is thought that the Dutchman is intent on signing the Tottenham talisman as he approaches the final year of his contract.

While Bayern Munich are expected to be in the market for a striker - and are another realistic option for Kane should he choose to move abroad - United are realistically the only Premier League club the Spurs ace could join in the summer. They are likely to have qualified for the Champions League, not to mention their priority signing being a high-quality centre forward.

The England captain has remained coy on his future, but after becoming his country's all-time leading scorer, he dropped a fresh hint about his next target. Kane admitted he is keen to overtake Alan Shearer and become the Premier League's top marksman - which appears to suggest that he plans to stay in England.

Following the win over Italy, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak rang Kane to congratulate him on his achievement. During the video call, the PM asked Kane whether he wants to overtake Shearer's tally of 260 goals to become the Premier League's record scorer.
