Harry Kane explains why Darwin Nunez, Erling Haaland arrivals will actually help Tottenham

Harry Kane challenged Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland over the Premier League Golden Boot, and explained why those arrivals could ultimately benefit Tottenham.

Those chasing Man City and Liverpool in the upper echelons of the Premier League may have grimaced at recent events. City recently confirmed the arrival of Erling Haaland who at just 21, is already one of the world’s most lethal finishers.

Liverpool are poised to respond with the signing of Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan was clinical at Benfica last season and is the next step in the evolution of Jurgen Klopp’s front line.

Haaland is already many people’s favourite to scoop the Golden Boot in the Premier League next season.

Harry Kane knows a thing or two about serial goal plundering. Indeed, the Spurs talisman is a three-time winner of that award (2015-16, 2016-17, 2020-21).

Former City defender, Nedum Onuoha, explained why he believes Haaland will soundly beat Darwin in the goals column next season.

However, Kane is fully aware he’ll have his work cut out to regain the award shared by Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah last year.

Speaking ahead of England’s Nations League clash with Hungary, Kane laid down the gauntlet to the two new arrivals.

However, he also insisted he’ll thrive among the greater competition and a potent Harry Kane can only be good news for Antonio Conte and Tottenham.

“The battle for the Golden Boot is always tough,” admitted Kane (via the Liverpool Echo).

“The Premier League has produced some top strikers around the world for a number of years now.
