Harry and Meghan pull plans and travel to Balmoral amid concern for The Queen

The Queen's grandson Prince Harry is travelling to Balmoral with wife Meghan Markle as concern grows for the monarch's health. Her majesty has been placed under medical supervision at the Scottish residence, Buckingham Palace announced earlier today (September 8).

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, confirmed the couple were on their way to see the Queen this afternoon. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were due to attend the WellChild Awards ceremony in London on Thursday evening, but have changed their plans to travel to see the Queen.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be travelling to Scotland”, a spokesperson for the couple said.

The couple were already in the country prior to today, with Meghan making an appearance in Manchester for the One Young World Summit earlier this week. She started her speech on Tuesday telling the audience how pleased she was to be back in the UK.

Other members of the Royal Family are also on their way to see the Queen. They include Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge. However Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is to remain in Windsor as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are on their first full day at their new school.

The Queen's son and heir Charles, the Prince of Wales, is also travelling to Balmoral alongside Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. In a statement released earlier this year, the Queen signalled her preference for Camilla to be known as Queen Consort when Charles becomes King.

Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Prince Andrew are all on their way to Balmoral as well. Earlier today, a Palace spokesperson said:
