Hamilton Accies star Kyle MacDonald back in light training after horror head injury, as boss John Rankin provides update

Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin has confirmed that midfielder Kyle MacDonald has resumed light training as he begins rehabilitation from a fractured skull.

MacDonald fractured his skull in a horror collision with Alloa’s Miko Virtanen in a 2-1 home League One defeat last month.

Jamie Hamilton last played for Accies in a 1-0 win over Morton in April 2022, but could be involved in a squad before the end of this season.

Rankin says the defender is pushing himself to regain fitness, and said: “Jamie is doing extras, at times he can be doing three or four sessions a day to get himself into the shape that we desire and he desires.

“That’s credit to him that he’s prepared to put in the long, hard graft to get
