Hamburg in roaring Rangers tribute as fans mark 150th anniversary celebrations with pre-match Ibrox favourite

Hamburg fans have marked Rangers 150th anniversary celebrations with a musical tribute to their Scottish partners.

The two clubs fans' have enjoyed close ties since the 1970s and the bond between the pair was made official last year with a "wide-ranging official partnership" between the clubs.

Both clubs have supporter links with fans of both sides cheering one another on during landmark occasions.

The Bundesliga 2 side have sent a message to the Gio van Bronckhorst 's side as they handed Rangers "one final present" ahead of their clash with Paderborn.

'The Gallant Pioneers' can be heard blaring through the speakers at the Volksparkstadion as the home support waved flags and sang along.

The partnership between the two clubs dates back to a friendly fixture against the clubs with HSV challenging for the Bundesliga title at the time and Rangers coming off a European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1972.

The current crop of talent will be hoping to mark the occasion with a win over Celtic in a heated Premiership title race battle
