Hafthor Bjornsson retires: His body transformation will never be matched

Hafthor Bjornsson has retired from boxing following his failure to secure a fight with WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, with The Gypsy King still not confirming who his next fight will be against with his return expected in December this year.

He outclassed Eddie Hall earlier this year when the two former World’s Strongest Men took part in a mega clash, but he hasn’t fought since.

After his careers in Strongmen competitions and acting, where he featured in Game of Thrones as Ser Gregor Clegane, so he has plenty of options for the next steps in his career.

After turning his attentions to boxing, Bjornsson underwent an incredible body transformation to make sure he was in the best possible shape to fight.

He won two fights in four, with the other two going down as draws, so it clearly worked all that time he put in, with an undefeated record as he walks away from the sport.

You can see in the image below the transformation he went under, going from absolute brute to a shredded monster, enough to strike fear into any opponent.

The failure to agree on a fight with Tyson Fury was the driving factor on him deciding to hang up his gloves, talking on his YouTube channel, he said: “I’ll admit there was a time when there was talks between Tyson Fury and I, well his team and my team. There was build-up starting, but that never went through.

“Now I’ve made a difficult decision and the reason why it took me so long to finally make this video was because this is actually a very difficult thing to talk about. I’ve made a decision to move on from boxing, to not compete in boxing again, to say goodbye to boxing and just not fight again. I had a good run, I did it for two-and-a-half years.
