Haaland to De Bruyne — Rate Man City's best performers so far this season

It's been one hell of a start to the season for Manchester City.

They may not be top of the pile just yet, with Arsenal currently claiming the Premier League summit for now, but considering City lost their opening match of last season, they're certainly sitting pretty in comparison. It's been an undefeated start, in the Champions League as well, as the Blues look to assert their dominance as soon as possible in the new campaign.

That isn't to say there haven't been hiccups for Pep Guardiola's rejuvenated side — far from it. City had to fight back from a 3-1 deficit at Newcastle to rescue a point in a match in which they were repeatedly torn apart in a fashion that has rarely been seen in recent years. Another two-goal comeback was needed to defeat Crystal Palace, as well, while lowly Aston Villa held them to a point.

Those heroic were also needed in Europe when a late turnaround had to be launched after falling a goal behind to Borussia Dortmund, whose resolute defence was only cracked after a John Stones thunderbolt. Yet, City have come through those scares largely unscathed, undefeated and have been playing some brilliant football.

Guardiola's new-look team may be a bit more fragile defensively but they are more than making up for it with a significant increase in firepower at the other end. Erling Haaland has been nothing short of a force of nature since his summer arrival, with a remarkable 14 goals in just nine games.

Fellow newcomers Julian Alvarez and Manuel Akanji have also had good starts to life at the Etihad and it's been business as usual for the likes of Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne.
