The World Cup trophy was not meant to be his, but India's 'Captain Fearless' Rohit Sharma gave everything on the field and so did Mohammed Shami, who set the record for most fifers in the tournament's history. India's World Cup dream also had Virat Kohli creating history with his 765 runs and notching up the 50th century to finish as the Player of the Tournament, but there were remarkable performers from the other teams as well. India have not won an ICC title since the 2013 Champions Trophy and Rohit Sharma's men have the chance to the end the drought in the Cricket World Cp final.

Their hopes will rest largely on all-rounders Bas de Leede and Logan van Beek, key performers at the qualifiers.
