Haaland, Ronaldo, Salah, Nunez: Who is favourite for the 22/23 PL Golden Boot?

He is yet to play a single minute of Premier League football in his career, but Manchester City’s newest-signing Erling Haaland has already been installed as the bookies’ favourite to lift the 2022/23 Golden Boot.

The £51 million Norwegian striker is one of the most prolific players of the modern era, having scored an astounding 86 goals in 89 games for previous club Borussia Dortmund.

Many fans, however, have wondered aloud whether Haaland will be able to replicate his Bundesliga form in the Premier League – with the English top-flight generally accepted to offer a far sterner standard of competition than its German counterpart.

The folks over at Sky Bet, though, believe that Haaland will hit the ground running at the Etihad Stadium, inserting him at the head of the top goalscorers market for the new campaign, ahead of the likes of Mo Salah, Son Heung-min, Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane.

Curiously, though, despite netting 26 goals in 28 Primeira Liga outings for Benfica last term, the oddsmakers are happy to offer a double-figure price about Liverpool’s latest acquisition Darwin Nunez topping the Premier League goalscoring charts come the end of the 22/23 campaign.
