Gustaf Lagerbielke lays his Celtic 'frustration' bare as revealing Swedish interview translated in full

Gustaf Lagerbielke admits he's growing 'frustrated' at Celtic - but is far from giving up despite his recent lack of gametime.

The Swedish defender was close to leaving Parkhead for Lecce in January but a move didn't come to pass as the defensive injuries piled up on Brendan Rodgers. He was kept around for cover but hasn't featured since, only making the bench against Hearts and Livingston recently despite key defender Cameron Carter-Vickers being out.

Lagerbielke, who is hoping to make the Sweden squad for their March friendlies despite his lack of club action, admits it's been a frustrating two months. Speaking to Sportbladet in his homeland, he's opened up on a number of things - revealing he's had no explanation from Rodgers as to why he hasn't been featuring. He also spoke about his early starring role, his first taste of a derby, and his hopes of making Euro 2024.

Summarise your time at Celtic so far?

"It has been both (good and bad), I would say. I really like Glasgow as a city and Celtic is a big club, which is noticeable. Especially when it comes to the audience, the stadium and everything around. I really have great opportunities to develop here. I have good team-mates and feel that I have their trust. And it has been an instructive time here where I feel that I have developed. The only thing missing is playing time."

Have you received any explanation as to why you are not playing?

"No, I haven't really. Right now I feel that I am really in the best shape of my life. I am much stronger and faster than ever and also mentally I have for a long time worked up a stable foundation that provides security. Of course, it's frustrating that I don't get to show it
