Gustaf Lagerbielke Celtic transfer attention increases as Serie A outfit join clubs chasing out of favour Swede

Hellas Verona are the latest Italian club considering a loan move for Celtic's Gustaf Lagerbielke.

The Swedish international has been linked with moves to rivals Genoa and Leece. Record Sport understands Verona are now also looking closely at the 23-year-old. Lagerbielke's name has been put around a number of Serie A clubs. Lagerbielke moved to Celtic in January from Elfsborg but has struggled to hold down one of the central defensive berths in Brendan Rodgers' side.

He has fallen behind Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maik Nawrocki, Liam Scales and Stephen Welsh in that particular fight Celtic could let him go out in January as they look to free up wages and to trim their squad. Verona are no strangers to the Scottish market. They have signed Josh Doig from Hibs and are currently considering some big-money moves on the young left-back.

A move to French side Marseille collapsed earlier this week but Torino and Sassuolo remain interested in Doig. If Verona sell Doig then they could put some of that money towards a move for Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz, who has already been the subject of a failed bid from Galatasaray.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to add to his squad. He has brought in German winger Nicolas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna and is also keen to bring in a physical striker and a left-back.

Celtic have been consistently linked with a loan move for Liverpool's Owen Beck. He spent the first half of the season at Dundee, where he impressed before he was recalled due to an injury crisis at Anfield.
