Gushue, Canadian curling teammates collect 3rd straight world silver medal
Swedish skip Niklas Edin drew to the four-foot ring in the 10th and final end to beat Canadian counterpart Brad Gushue 6-5 in the gold-medal game Sunday at the world men's curling championship in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.
It's the seventh world title for Edin, who has downed Gushue in each of their past three meetings in the championship match. Edin also prevailed 6-5 against the Canadians on Thursday.
Leading 5-3 on Sunday, Edin conceded two points in the ninth end.
Gushue won his first and only world gold in 2017, defeating Edin in Edmonton.
Earlier Sunday, Italy edged Scotland 7-6 for the bronze medal.
