Gunther's incredible body transformation ahead of WWE SmackDown debut

Gunther (formerly WALTER) made his WWE main roster debut on Friday Night SmackDown last night.

The former NXT UK Champion has appeared on the main roster before, both in the build-up to Survivor Series 2019 and when WWE has come over to the UK.

However, his appearance on last night’s show seemed to suggest that the big Austrian is going to become part of the SmackDown roster full-time from now.

Some fans, particularly those who may not watch NXT, noticed that Gunther looked noticeably different from the last time they may have seen him, as can be seen below.

After moving to the US full-time last year, Gunther got himself into incredible shape, presumably for a move to the main roster.

Gunther looks noticeably leaner since he won the NXT UK Championship in the photo on the left (April 2019), and has appeared to lose a considerable amount of weight.

Reports have always stated that WWE wanted him to be on either Raw or SmackDown, but the Austrian’s desire to remain in Europe stopped that from happening.

However, Gunther has relaxed on that as of late, and is now a full-time member of the SmackDown roster, winning a squash match in impressive fashion last night.

Gunther didn’t come to the main roster alone, being flanked by Ludwig Kaiser, who was formerly Marcel Barthel in NXT.

The pair were in Imperium together down in NXT, but were not joined by Fabian Aichner, who was also part of the group.

There is no word on by Kaiser/Barthel was brought up and Aichner was snubbed, but stay tuned to GiveMeSport for any potential updates on that front.

As of right now, there is no word on what the future holds for Gunther, but WWE did do a good job in making him feel like a big deal during last night’s show.
