Greggs to open eight new stores this summer - including one in Greater Manchester
Greater Manchester will be getting a brand new Greggs bakery this summer as the chain opens eight new stores across the country.
So far the popular British bakery chain, known for its sausage rolls and sweet treats, has opened 94 branches in the first half of the year and closed 44. Among the new openings this August and September are a drive-thru in Cheshire and an outlet in London.

Meanwhile their outlets redistribute and sell the chain's unsold products at a lower price. There are currently around 28 outlet stores across the UK, including one right here in Oldham which opened in May.
It comes as Greggs shared its half year results on August 1 which revealed that it is on track to open 150 new branches across 2023. In the first few months Greggs reported that its sales had jumped by 16% to £844million on a like for like basis - total saves were up 21%.
Greggs confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that eight new stores would open throughout August and September, including:
No official opening dates have yet been confirmed for the new Greggs stores.
Openings already this year included stores in Glasgow and Cardiff airports and the south terminal at Gatwick airport, West Sussex, as well as at the Shepherd’s Bush and Canary Wharf London Underground stations. Greggs says the rapid expansion it has seen over the first half of this year was down to extending its opening hours and offering "exceptional value" to customers who need food to-go.
